If I Could Visit Spring Fling This Year…

While I’ll be spending the weekend welcoming visitors to my own atelier, I’ve been daydreaming about where I’d go if I could slip away and visit a few fellow makers taking part in Spring Fling. There’s something lovely about imagining their spaces, the quiet conversations, the kettle just boiled.

Andy Priestman

I’ve long admired Andy’s work from afar, but have never made the pilgrimage to his workshop in the Galloway hills. Each of his pots feels like it holds a little of the landscape—his wood-fired technique makes every piece a one-off, full of warmth and presence.

Adam Booth

Adam is an artist blacksmith, and there’s a rhythm and flow to his work that I find fascinating. His metalwork has a sculptural softness to it, full of movement and beautifully made.

Cat Coulson

Cat’s abstract landscapes are always a joy to see—gentle, expressive, and full of colour. There’s something about her palette that captures the quiet mood of familiar places, the way the light shifts in the Scottish countryside.

If you’re nearby this weekend, I hope you get the chance to visit some of these studios and soak it all in. And if, like me, you’ll be staying in one place—click HERE to access a playlist I made for the weekend. It’s what I’ll be listening to in the atelier, and I’d love for you to join me in spirit.

Spring Fling Open Studios runs from 24-26th May 2025.
